The mission of the Charlotte Black Film Festival (CBFF) is to provide a platform for African American filmmakers and content creators to showcase their work, celebrate their culture, and tell their stories. We promote diversity and inclusion in the film industry by highlighting the talents and contributions of Black artists and those telling the stories of the African diaspora.

The founder of the Charlotte Black Film Festival, Tommy Nichols, is not only passionate about the films, he’s also on a mission to advance job creation in Charlotte using digital technology education and training in film production.
CBFF Micro-Film Grant
The Charlotte Black Film Festival proudly announced the recipients of its annual Micro-Film Grant. This initiative supports emerging Black filmmakers with funding and resources to bring original short film projects to life.
CBFF P.A. Bootcamp
The Charlotte Black Film Festival is hosting a dynamic P.A. Bootcamp to train the next wave of production assistants ready to step onto professional film and television sets.
This hands-on workshop covers set etiquette, communication tools,
call sheet basics, and so much more.
