CBFF Volunteers Registration


I am excited to extend an invitation to you to volunteer at the 16th annual Charlotte Black Film Festival. This festival is a celebration of African American cinema, showcasing some of the most dynamic and diverse films in the industry.


As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of the festival. You will have the opportunity to meet new people, gain valuable experience in the film industry, and contribute to a meaningful cause. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about film and eager to make a positive impact.

Volunteer positions are available in a variety of areas, including event set-up and tear-down, ticket sales, ushering, hospitality, and more. We will provide training and support to ensure that you feel confident in your role. The festival will take place from June 4th, 2026, to June 7th, 2026, at the theatre. Your volunteer commitment can be tailored to fit your schedule, and we are happy to work with you to find the right opportunity.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities:

Tech & Media Team (8 volunteers, rotating shifts)

  • Assist with film screenings in the projection room.

  • Support AV for panel discussions and Q&A

  • Red Carpet/Interviews/panel discussion Photographer

  • and Videographer Team Member

  • Red Carpet Vision Awards

Hospitality Team 8-10 volunteers, rotating shifts)

  • Greet guests and provide event information.

  • Manage registration/check-in tables.

  • Assist with refreshments and special guest needs.

Operations Team (Setup & Cleanup Crew for Q&A)

  • Arrange and reset chairs for panel discussions.

  • Maintain a clean event space.

  • Support overall festival logistics.
