PRAISE PARTY – Feature Film – Runtime: 107mins – Theatre II
The movie is about a young man, Tobe. As a teenager, Tobe had mistakenly shot and killed his friend while there was a party at his parents’ residence. Unfortunately, their maid Suzy was framed for the murder and was imprisoned. After Tobe grew up, he began to act irrational. He was emotionally abusing his wife Zara. His mother was not nice to her either. Eventually Tobe kicks Zara out of their home on the basis of them being childless. Zara left to her parent’s house, and sank into depression. One day at the supermarket, she met Suzy who was interested in becoming friends with her. Suzy helped Zara and introduced her to a therapy group which Tobe and his mom also attended. Eventually, they all settled their differences, including Suzy. Tobe and Zara got back together and later gave birth to twins. The story elucidates the impact of unresolved childhood trauma, and how being intentional about getting professional help, forgiveness and faith can bring healing to emotional wounds and troubled relationships.
